For a salon, spa or barbershop, your website has one main job: get people into the chair. Every page should make it easier to pick a service, see the price, and book. Here's what works.
1. A booking button everywhere
If you use an online booking system, put a "Book Now" button at the top of every page, and repeat it after every section. On phones, it should stay easy to reach while scrolling.
If you take bookings by phone or text, make the number tap-to-call and say when you answer.
2. A clear service menu with prices
Customers want to know what you offer and what it costs before they book.
- Group services: cuts, color, styling, treatments, nails, waxing, beard care
- Include prices, or "starting at" prices if they vary
- Add how long each service takes
- Explain anything clients might not understand, like the difference between balayage and highlights
Hidden prices make people nervous and send them elsewhere.
3. Photos of your actual work
Your portfolio sells for you. Show:
- Before-and-after photos
- A range of styles, hair types and looks you're good at
- Your space, so clients know what to expect
- Your team at work
Update photos often. Fresh work shows you're busy and current. Always get client permission before posting their photos.
4. Stylist or barber profiles
Many clients choose a person, not just a salon. Give each team member:
- A photo
- Specialties ("color correction," "curly cuts," "fades and lineups")
- A few photos of their work
- A direct link to book with them
5. Reviews
Show real reviews that mention specific services and team members. Link to your Google reviews, and reply to them.
6. Policies, stated kindly
Clear policies prevent awkward conversations:
- Cancellation and no-show policy
- Deposits for long or expensive services
- Late arrival policy
- Children or guests policy, if relevant
Keep the tone friendly and short.
7. New client information
New clients are often nervous. A short "First visit?" section helps: what to expect, whether to arrive early, consultations, and parking.
8. Gift cards and products
If you sell gift cards or retail products, give them a clear spot on your site. Gift cards are especially popular around holidays.
9. Location and hours
Your address with a maps link, parking details, and your hours, kept in sync with your Google Business Profile.
A simple salon website structure
| Page | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Home | Your vibe, a photo, Book Now, reviews |
| Services and Prices | The full menu |
| Team | Stylist or barber profiles with booking links |
| Gallery | Your best work |
| New Clients | What to expect and policies |
| Gift Cards | An easy extra sale |
| Contact | Address, hours, phone |
The booking test
On your phone, go from your homepage to a confirmed booking. Count the taps. If it takes more than four or five, look for steps to remove. Remove steps that do not help someone complete a booking.
