For coaches and consultants, your website often does the first sales conversation for you. A visitor arrives curious and leaves either convinced you can help or unsure. Here's how to make sure they leave ready to book a call.
1. A headline about the result, not the title
"Life Coach" or "Business Consultant" doesn't say what changes for the client. Lead with the outcome.
- "Helping new managers lead with confidence in their first 90 days"
- "Bookkeeping systems for restaurant owners who hate spreadsheets"
- "Career coaching for nurses moving into leadership roles"
The more specific the audience and result, the more the right people feel "this is for me."
2. A clear offer
Explain exactly what you sell:
- What it is (one-on-one coaching, a workshop, a project)
- Who it's for
- How long it lasts and how it works
- What the client gets at the end
- What it costs, or starting prices
Vague offers lead to vague inquiries. Clear offers lead to booked calls.
3. Proof
Credibility is everything. Show what you can honestly back up:
- Client testimonials with names and roles, with permission
- Short case studies: the client's starting point, what you did, and what changed
- Credentials, certifications and relevant experience
- Talks, publications or organizations you've worked with
Never invent results or exaggerate. Specific, honest stories are more persuasive anyway.
4. An About page that's really about the client
Tell your story briefly, then connect it to the client: why you do this work, who you love helping, and how your experience helps them. Include a friendly, professional photo.
5. One main call to action
For most coaches and consultants, that's "Book a free call" or "Book a consultation." Use a scheduling link so visitors can pick a time instantly, and put the button on every page.
6. A free resource (optional but powerful)
A short guide, checklist or video in exchange for an email address lets you stay in touch with visitors who aren't ready yet. Choose something genuinely useful that's related to your paid offer.
7. Answer the doubts
Add a short FAQ covering the questions you hear on every call: "How is this different from…?" "How much time does it take?" "What if it doesn't work for me?" "Do you work online?"

The credibility test
Show your homepage to someone in your target audience for ten seconds. Ask: "Who is this for, and what will it do for you?" If they can answer, your website is ready to book calls.
