Adding an AI chatbot is mostly about preparation. The technology takes minutes; giving it the right information and limits is what makes it useful.
Step 1: Gather your information
- Services and what each includes
- Prices or price ranges you are happy to share
- Hours, service area and how to book
- Your ten most common customer questions and your answers
- Policies: deposits, cancellations, guarantees you actually offer
Step 2: Write the rules
Decide what the chatbot must never do: invent prices, promise dates, discuss competitors, give legal or medical advice. Decide when it hands off to you.
Step 3: Train it
The agent's instructions are written from your information. On our plans we also give it your website text, so its answers match what customers read.
Step 4: Connect it
Choose where leads go (email, text alert, spreadsheet or CRM) and, if you want booking, connect your calendar.
Step 5: Test with real questions
Ask it twenty real customer questions, including awkward ones. Fix any wrong or vague answers before launch.
Step 6: Launch and review weekly
Read the weekly summary. Every question it couldn't answer is a gap to fill.
How we do it
Every 11:11 website launches with a free basic agent trained on your website. On a paid plan we add your services, approved prices and policies, connect your calendar or forms, and test it with you, with no setup fee.
Example rules for your chatbot
- Only quote prices from the approved price list; otherwise offer to have the owner confirm.
- Never promise a date or time without checking the calendar.
- Never ask for passwords, card numbers or medical details.
- Hand off complaints, refunds and emergencies to the owner immediately.
- Always introduce yourself as an AI assistant.
Twenty questions to test it with
Mix easy and awkward questions: your hours, a service you don't offer, a price question, a complaint, a question in Spanish, a request for a same-day booking, a question about your license, and a message that is just "hi". Fix every answer you wouldn't say yourself.
Common mistakes
- Launching without testing on a phone
- Letting it answer from outdated website text
- Sending leads to an inbox nobody checks
- Hiding the option to reach a person
Questions
How long does it take to add a chatbot?
The setup itself is quick. Gathering accurate answers and testing is the part worth spending an hour or two on.
Will a chatbot slow down my website?
A well-built chat widget loads lightly and doesn't block the page. Test your page speed after adding any widget.
